What is body-oriented coaching?
Most coaching containers focus on the thinking mind, missing the opportunity to attune with the innate intelligence of the whole body. Body-oriented coaching uses a somatic approach, allowing clarity to emerge, self-agency to strengthen, and full-body integration of a new way of living.

This is me shouting that YOGA IS FOR EVERYONE! There is a mis-conception that you need to be flexible and in great shape to attend a yoga class, and that just couldn’t be further from the truth. In a time when yoga can sometimes be seen as performative, it may help to point out that the literal translation of asana is “to be seated”. The goal of yoga isn’t to reach a peak pose, but to prepare your body to sit comfortably in meditation.
All abilities are welcome to join in our virtual yoga classes, and beginners are encouraged to start with the beginner series. This 4-week series walks you through basics of philosophy, postures, and alignment, to build your confidence for future classes!
Hi! I’m Erika.
Growing up an athlete, I have always felt a strong connection and level respect for my body. I originally went to college for marketing, and after graduating spent several years working at a company that provided support for people with disabilities. In 2018, I changed career course and went back to school to become a certified massage therapist. What I learned in school fascinated me, and opened my eyes to the connectiveness between our mind and bodies. I saw first hand how our thoughts and emotions present themselves physically, and how physical stressors and nourishment can impact our mental and emotional states. We are one body-mind.
Inspired to learn more, I went on to become a certified health coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2021. In 2023 I became a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. In December of 2023 I embarked on the ICF-accredited Body-Oriented Coaching program through The Somatic School. Then, in 2024, I completed a 200 hour yoga teacher certification through Barefoot Yoga School in Sri Lanka.
My mission at Sol Wellness Studio is to provide an environment in which people are welcome to come exactly as they are, grow in self-awareness, and expand their life.
