Trusting someone for support along your health and wellness journey is a big deal, so let me share a little bit more about my story and what led me here so you can get to know me better!

Growing up as a multi-sport athlete, I always thought of my health in terms of how "in shape" I was for the season. To get back into shape, I simply worked out more. After college I struggled with finding my path. I travelled, changed jobs, gained and lost relationships, and with all those life changes came weight changes. I didn't know it, but my life was out of balance.

In 2017 I had an eye opening experience when my back went out and I was in near constant pain for nearly a month. I went to a number of different doctors, none of whom could really give me answers. This was new and frustrating for me. As an active gal I just wanted someone to crack my back and have me feeling back to normal, but I learned that's not how things work.

Eventually things loosened up, but my activity remained limited most of that summer. Unable to go for jogs, long hikes, or play softball, I felt sluggish and heavy. I was stressed at work, and found myself coming home tired each day and bee-lining it for the couch. I decided I needed to make change and start putting my health first, and I felt a tug towards the calm, relaxing work environment of massage therapy. I took a leap and enrolled in school in the fall of 2018!

Through school I fell in love with learning about health and wellness. Our bodies are fascinating things, and for the first time I knew I was in the right place for my future career. I started Sol Wellness Studio with the goal of helping people fall in love with taking care of themselves, whether through promoting healing in areas of soreness or simply enabling relaxation for bodies so used to feeling stressed and over-worked. It has been such a pleasure serving my community and learning and growing alongside my clients!

I always knew that I wanted to add more services to be able to serve more people, and when Covid-19 hit that became my top priority. With so many unknowns, I was unsure what the future of massage therapy would look like. In May of 2020 I accepted a full time job for a growing international company (you've probably heard of them) doing virtual health coaching. I learned a great deal about what it means to be a coach and enjoyed working with my clients. As the company continued to grow, I decided I wanted to be able to work more in depth with people and provide a greater level of support than I was able to with such a large company.

I also was struggling with my work/life balance, working full time as a coach and continuing to do massage.  Through my various trainings I had come to realize that taking care of my health entailed much more than just being "in shape", as I had once thought. I wanted to prioritize my own physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health so I could show up as my best self and better serve my clients. So in January 2021 I left my full time job and began a certification program through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. My goal was to build on my coaching skills and learn more about the business side of things, however my experience far surpassed those expectations.

First and foremost, I am grateful for the chance to really LISTEN to my clients. After hurting my back and going to so many different medical professionals who simply didn't have the time to listen, I learned how important and invaluable it is for people to feel heard. There are so many factors that influence our health, and if you have found yourself lacking balance know that does not mean you are lazy, and you are not alone. We all go through seasons. Through the IIN program I really became my own first client, and it's remarkable what a difference I feel since starting. I believe that everyone deserves the support of someone who understands that YOU know your body better than anyone else. I will never tell you what to do, but I know without a doubt the impact that non-judgmental support and accountability can have on a person's health and well-being, and I am here to be that for you.
